Greens failing to deliver - 9 Sep 2010
The recent State budget process has highlighted the failure of Nick McKim and the Tasmanian Greens to deliver on many of their election commitments.

When I first realised that Nick McKim would be given the Climate Change, Sustainable Transport and Alternative Energy portfolios I had high hopes for the outcomes he might deliver on behalf of the environment but so far Nick McKim has been a complete disappointment.

Labor/Green commitment to lightrail dubious - 9 Sep 2010
Despite the Labor/Green Government's announced feasibility study into the Northern Suburbs Lightrail there are signs to suggest that the Government's true commitment to the project is dubious.

Lets hope this is not the case and that the Government moves swiftly to test the business case for the project as well as assessing other transport options for Hobart.

Labor failing our national parks - 18 Sep 2010
On World Parks Day we have the opportunity to highlight the invaluable asset of our parks and reserves here in Tasmania, but we should also reflect on the years of ineptitude, broken promises, chronic underfunding and complacency toward our natural heritage shown by the Labor Government, and perpetuated by the current Labor-Green coalition.

Liberals leading in renewable energy - 18 Sep 2010
When State Parliament resumes next week, the Tasmanian Liberals will put forward two motions on the increase in electricity prices across the state, in addition to our plans to legislate for a five per cent cap on the price increases.

Oprah: Help us save the Tassie Devil - 27 Sep 2010
I have recently written to Oprah seeking her assistance in raising awareness of the serious threat currently faced by the Tassie devil. My objective is to persuade Oprah to include a segment on the Devil in her upcoming Sydney taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show.
